Hybrid Bed Designs – Silica Applications

RTO applications where silica is present in the airstream are difficult to treat as the particulate cannot be cleaned by normal burnouts. Washouts are successful for a short period of time but end up driving material to lower parts of the regenerative bed where contaminants cannot be cleaned. Lexco has two innovative designs that eliminate the problem of silica being driven to lower levels of the bed with either (1) a hybrid media design, combining saddles and monolith, or with (2) our media exchange program. Both of the designs reduce unit downtime and maintenance intervals.
